Question:

I have been working in the industry for years, do I have to start at the lower level of Apprenticeship?

Answer:

This depends on the requirement of the Apprenticeship Framework, some frameworks require apprentices to have completed level 3 qualifications prior to progression to level 3, others will take into account your industry knowledge and you could start at level 3.

Question:

If I want YRP funding to support my new member of staff, is there a time limit for applying?

Answer:

There is a 10-week rule between the time of recruiting the apprentice and the time they are signed onto an Apprenticeship programme.  No YRP funding is paid during this period – signing your employee as an apprentice triggers the start of the payments.
